Silicon Bracelets Are Mostly Known Today As Awareness Bracelets

by Susan Smith

Silicon Bracelets are mostly known today as Awareness bracelets.

These bracelets were used by Lance Armstrong and today it gives millions of people to use it as a fashion and also to support their cause.

Silicon is used to make these bracelets. Larger companies make customised silicon bracelets now-a-days and they are becoming increasingly famous.

Breast cancer awareness bracelets are widely used to create awareness among young women about this dreaded cancer. Its a call to all young women to get their endometrial tests done at regular intervals and also to donate funds for this noble cause.

Silicon bracelets are becoming a fashionable fad as well. We see teenagers wearing them to prom as well. Although they are mostly fundraising bracelets their fashionable aspect is not be ignored either.

Silicon bracelets are available in multitues of colors. These are made as custom silicon bracelets. Retail shopkeepers complain that the silicon bracelets market is slowing down but the large manufacturers have picked up the newer trend of custom silicon bracelets.

Custom silicon wristbands are not a bore fundraising thing anymore they are walking billboards.

Custom silicon bracelets are here to stay. The fact that they are increasingly used by large and small companies and organisations clearly illustrates the fact that these bracelets will serve for good.

If you are a bracelet fan then we suggest you to use custom silicon bracelets which will give you a lot more varieties in color and styles.

Silicon bracelets are here to stay and their number is just going to grow from supermarkets to proms and from movies to churches all for varying causes.

Everywhere a different purpose served. Custom silicon bracelets are a way to go.

PUT SOME DAZZLE IN YOUR LINGERIE TODAY

by Bridget Allen

Lingerie is not just for the guys, it’s for the women too! As a woman, we want the very best undergarments out there.

We want the hottest, sexiest little number that feels like melted butter next to our skin. And to top it off, we want it to slim our tummy, lift our tush and enhance our bust line! That’s not asking for too much, is it?

So first of all, we want something soft. Velvet, silk, and satin ranks high on the softness scale.

Today’s lingerie is more than just panties and bras. If you aren’t that familiar with the different styles available in lingerie, here’s a quick guide to help you navigate your way through the lingerie shop.

Chemise is a straight gown that skims the body. These can be comfortable and sexy hugging you in all the right places.

A babydoll gown is a short gown that fits around the bust and flares towards the hemline. The babydoll gown is perfect for showing off those legs!

To display a little more cleavage, try a bustier. A bustier is a strapless elongated bra that provides extra lift.

Camisoles are sleeveless tops with matching undies that can be worn under a jacket. Camisoles are great for showing off those toned arms. Very sexy!

A negligee is a loose, sheer gown normally accompanied with panties and a matching sheer robe. Very nice for that special night with your sweetie.

A teddy is a one-piece bodysuit.

Tap pants are soft, very short versions of boxer shorts.

And, of course, there is the thong. The thong provides frontal coverage with a thin strap in the back. Thongs are perfect when you don’t want any panty lines.
You are intelligent, funny and on your way to being a “woman of the world”! And to project confidence your undergarments should be just as sexy and fashionable as your outward appearance. When confidence oozes from you, the whole world will know that you have arrived and are ready to conquer the world! The most important thing to remember is to have fun and be comfortable. Intimates are also available in casual styles like tank tops, p.j.’s and bikinis.

Navajo Jewelry

by Rachana Agarwal

Traditional American Indian tribe has its own culture and customs. They are known for their passion of wearing beautiful and sparkling jewelry that symbolizes their deep heritage and rich legacy proudly. Over the years, different classic jewelries have been worn with pleasure and pride.

Native American Indian jewelries include bracelets, necklaces, rings, earrings, pendants, chokers and others. Most Indian jewelries utilize silver and some semi-precious stones such as turquoise, opal, lapis, and others. However, turquoise is the most commonly used gemstone. As a means to compliment silver, turquoise is used in engraving and stamping accomplished chisel, shaped steel piping, awl, and punch that looks simply brilliant and marvelous in its own way. You can also find delicate designs and styles in silver base that looks simply stunning and radiant. Navajo jewelry is symmetrical, repetitive and balanced in their appearance. If you look at the designs of this remarkable jewelry, you will find strong impressions of geometric patterns found on Mexican leatherwork.

The squash blossom necklace has always been very popular in Navajo jewelry which is typically composed of silver beads resembling stylized blossoms, with a single crescent-shaped pendant at the center. Some squash blossom necklaces are made entirely of silver; others combine silver and turquoise or silver and coral. Silver turquoise pendants and earrings are also catching the market these days that has a definite shine and elegance. Turquoise bracelets in Navajo jewelry are also getting popularity due to their sharp cut and antique style. Don’t get surprised if you notice these attractive bracelets in the hands of youths and celebrities who love to decorate themselves in such a different and eye catching jewelry.

The most interesting feature of Navajo jewelry is its uniqueness. You will never find two similar pieces in Navajo jewelry that really got some striking looks. This may be because they are not mass produced by machines or in a factory. They are purely hand made and each piece is classic in its own way. In fact, some of artists follow the policy of copyright for protecting the design and pattern of Navajo jewelry.

Till now if are not a proud owner of this antique jewelry, buy a beautiful and elegant Navajo jewelry will definitely help you to establish your own fashion statement. So, Navajo jewelry is not mere an accessory it is the value and worth that can make you distinct and beautiful with its glow and eternal shine.

Music Boxes: Why We Love Them

by Monique Hawkins

Music Boxes. There is something about them that appeals to people of all ages. Perhaps it is because they are enchanting, magical, whimsical, and have a tendency to bring back memories of days long past. Play a music box in a room full of people, and everyone will stop to listen. Music boxes never fail to fascinate, captivate, and draw some to the point where they begin to collect them out of sheer enjoyment and love of them.

Perhaps the music box collector's original interest was peaked by the sounds they produce or possibly by the rise and fall of the teeth as the cylinder turns. Maybe collectors were given a music box as a gift or inherited an especially unique one. Some collectors and lovers of music boxes could be interested in the novel features of particular music movements. For example, early automata combined exquisite fashioned figures with music boxes, while many 19th century manufacturers combined bells, drums, and novelty figures with different musical mechanisms.

The love for antique music boxes is due to the charms of memory it evokes of earlier times. It is fascinating to realize that the sounds that are heard were also heard by the original owner, perhaps 100 years ago or more. Also, the workmanship and quality have a way of causing collectors to feel absolute delight and a great desire to have a particular music box for their own.

The term music box represents a wide range of music boxes. This wide variety of music boxes also causes collectors to love for them. The Musical Box Society International describes the music box as "a popular term covering all types of automatically played musical machines, from small table-top instruments that use a cylinder or disc to play tunes on a steel comb, to large orchestrions (and) carousel music organs, which have the musical capability of a symphony orchestra or military band. Between these extremes are dozens of mechanical music-makers, including pianos, automatic violin-playing machines, clocks with music attachments, musical toys and novelties, the familiar player piano, and many more."

The wide range of novelty music boxes and items that have musical movements is awe-inspiring and increases the fascination for them. From airplanes, bridal items, butterflies, nutcrackers, and Swiss Chalets, the uniqueness of these musical movements increases the desire to add to a current collection or to give an item as a special gift.

Collecting or purchasing a good quality music box is something most people can do. It makes the collecting process that much more affordable and fun. Whether it is a cylinder music box or antique music box, novelty item with a music mechanism, or the beloved Regina music box, purchasing and collecting music boxes does not have to break one's budget; another great reason to love them!

Music boxes are beloved by many and surely are hear to stay. With their delicate beauty and soft, tinkling notes of a wonderful song, they will continue to be treasured by all for years to come.

Start a Work at Home Jewelry Business

by Eileen Bergen

Jewelry making is an ideal way to start earning a little extra money from home. You don’t need to spend a lot to get going. Initially your circle of friends will be your customers. Your friends will tell their friends, who will tell their friends, and so on and so on.

Though you may start with a kit or two for the learning experience, you can’t rely on kits if you want to make money selling your work. People will pay more for one-of-a-kind pieces. Plus, the mark-up on kits is quite high because another artist has done the design work for you. In other words, you can both charge more and keep your costs lower if you design your work yourself. This is how to maximize your profit.

A good place to start is by flipping through magazines and catalogues. Clip jewelry photos that appeal to you, along with price information if available. Get a notebook and fill it with the pictures.

You’re not going to copy them. This is just to give you ideas and get your creative juices flowing. The pictures will also come in handy when you can’t quite figure out how to do something you have in mind – kind of like your own illustrated how-to book.

There are two easy to learn jewelry making methods to consider: beading and wire sculpting, also know as wire wrapping.

Beading requires little skill other than a good sense of design and the materials are inexpensive.

Wire sculpting or wire wrapping is not that much harder to learn, but since you are dealing with gold, silver and genuine gemstones, the materials cost a bit more. But the markup is much higher.

Tools and Materials

Here’s a list of tools you will need to start:

1. Jewelers’ wire cutters - If you can only afford one pair, get memory wire shears. These are designed to make clean cuts on tough memory wire, so can also be used for softer wires.

2. Chain-nose pliers (sometimes called needle-nose pliers) – Very versatile for picking up and grasping small items, bending eye pins, closing jumps rings, even closing crimp beads.

3. Round-nose pliers – Used for creating loops on beaded head and eye pins. Can also be used for winding your own jump rings and as the second pliers you’ll need for closing jump rings.

4. Optional pliers – Wire-looping pliers which have several graduated circumferences to allow you to form perfectly uniform jump rings and loops (in place of the round-nose pliers mentioned above). Crimping pliers which have little notches to allow you to both flatten a crimp bead and then bend it to form a rounded finished look (instead of the flat crimp you get using the chain-nose pliers).

As for materials, I recommend some assortment packs of beads in coordinating colors, some decorative metal spacers, seed beads in both silver and gold (These can serve as spacers and beautifully set off your other beads.), tube-shaped crimp beads (Buy the best you can find – these are what hold it all together!), head and eye pins.

Other than that, let your choice of project be your guide. You might want some silver or pewter charms. For earrings, you would need ear posts or wires or clip-on bases. For bracelets, you need memory wire or stretchy cord or beading wire and clasps. For necklaces, memory wire or beading wire, clasps and perhaps pendants.

A bead board is a good idea too. Its ruled tracks help you measure and lay out designs for bracelets and necklaces; as well as to corral the beads you are working with at a given time.

How to Create A Music Box, Part II

by Monique Hawkins

Creating beautiful music boxes such as ballerina music boxes, musical jewelry boxes, carousel music boxes, and others can be a fun activity and hobby. In addition to choosing the title for the music box, considering creative ability, and choosing decorative accessories, one must also look at the type of musical movement to use. Ones to consider are the 18-Note Key -Wind, Double Action, Magnetic Swing Arm, Electronic Miniatures, and Clear Tones.

18-Note Key-Wind

These musical movements are used frequently when music boxes are made. There are numerous song titles to choose from. In addition, to add various kinds of motion, these musical movements can be made with animation accessories.

Double-Action

The double action musical movements come with a turntable. What usually happens is the turntable rotates in one direction while three discs on top of the turntable spin figurines to and fro. This movement would be especially useful for those who love figurines.

Magnetic Swing Arm

This is a very interesting music movement; The movement rotates in a circle under the music box lid. A figurine can then be glued to a magnet and then the magnet can be placed on the lid of the music box. This causes the figurine to spin and dance because of the magnetic swing arm under the lid. Most of these musical movements come with all the needed parts.

Miniature

Handcrafted Bracelets....Something to Cherish

by Ariana R. Cherry

Handcrafted bracelets are a piece of jewelry that is something to cherish--and when I say handcrafted--I mean-strung, woven, or wired BY HAND. Sure you can be at Wal-Mart or the latest hip store that might be selling some beaded jewelry in the jewelry section--but most of that has been factory made--in a line of assembly.

A handcrafted bracelet is when an artisan personally picks out the beads and colors him/herself. And then decides on a design, stringing material, and what kind of impression this piece of jewelry should make. There really is alot that goes into the thought process.

I can tell you that I personally create all of my bracelets.... I take a whole evening, or even days to create a special piece. In my jewelry box--you can expect to see that not one design is exactly the same. I get so many compliments on my work that they ask me--where did you buy that?.... (of course the ones who know me well know that I have made it myself, and compliment me on my artwork)--but for those who don't know me, they will just sigh in amazement that it seems almost impossible to create..

So when I say a handcrafted bracelet is something to cherish--I truly mean it. There is so much work from the heart that goes into it-thats why its so hard for a true jewelry artisan to part with his/her jewelry--It becomes a part of us.

--The next time you receive a handcrafted bracelet or any other piece of jewelry--take it as a compliment. It means that you are special to that person and they wanted to find something original and unique to give you...

A handcrafted bracelet is....something to cherish.

Buying A Diamond Wedding Ring

by Larry Johnson

The diamond can be selected first or last, there is no right or wrong order. Some people prefer to choose their diamonds first and then find a setting that will accentuate its beauty. Others choose to pick out the setting initially and then search for a diamond, or diamonds, that will adorn that setting. And there are still others that find it much easier to buy a diamond engagement ring that is already finished completely.

Diamonds all look beautiful. Even cheap diamonds can look elegant and classy. If you want your diamond engagement ring to look as elegant as you've always dreamed it would be the most important thing is to locate a fine setting. It's this choice of setting that will determine whether the finished product is a worthy purchase. Your choice of diamonds and setting is very important because ideally you won't get a second chance at choosing your diamond engagement ring.

Many women choose diamond engagement rings that have three stone settings. These rings will usually include one center diamond and two smaller offset diamonds. Three stone settings are very popular and can include either prong or bezel settings which can be made of 14k or 18k yellow gold, white gold or platinum.

Some women prefer classic solitaire settings that may include 4 to 6 prongs, bezel or cathedral settings. There is a wide assortment of solitaire settings. As a general rule the more prongs you have the safer the diamond engagement ring sets. You certainly don't want to lose a diamond because one of the prongs breaks off. So this is something to consider when choosing your setting.

When shopping for a diamond it's important to purchase a certified stone. A certified diamond has been evaluated by an independent expert that will give it a quality rating for its cut, color, clarity and carats. This is the surest way to purchase a high quality diamond. After finding a center diamond and complimentary diamonds to your liking the next step is to find that beautiful setting you've always dreamed of.

Another thing to consider when shopping for a diamond engagement ring is the current trend. Many women will end up purchasing a style of ring that is currently popular only to find out 10 years later that it's no longer in style. You have to remember that this wedding ring will be worn forever hopefully so choosing a classic style may be more to your liking.

It's also smart to consider the practicality of the engagement ring. If you plan on wearing the ring daily it may be wise to purchase a sturdier ring that can withstand the daily rigors of your job or activities. You should determine the amount of wear and tear your ring will endure and select a ring that is up to the punishment.

Other things to consider are the metal your wedding band or engagement ring will be made from. Some women prefer the look of yellow gold while others prefer white gold. Some forego gold altogether and go with platinum, a very popular style these days. Or you can go with a combination, a two-tone gold with some yellow and some white. It's purely a personal preference.

But something to consider is that two-tone gold may be easier to match with other jewelry that you may wear. Another question that brides-to-be often have a hard time deciding is whether or not they should buy a name brand ring or not. It's usually fairly easy to find comparable rings cheaper if you do not go with a name brand. On the other hand it's sometimes nice to be able to flaunt an expensive name brand ring. The choice is yours.

Beauty Tips: Always Use A Make-Up Brush For A Professional Finis

by Steve Hill

There are a lot of people who nowadays are applying cosmetics using their fingers, in my opinion it looks a lot better if applied using a make-up brush. This article describes the reasons for this and looks at the types of make-up brush which are available.

Blending

A smooth finish is what is required if you really want to look your best. Using your fingers and the fingertips makes it very difficult to get this smooth finish, where as if you use a good quality shaped make-up brush you can.

There are of course various oils in your fingers which can easily transfer to your face to make it look blotchy. This oil can also transfer itself to the make-up itself which can make it difficult to use in the future.

I often see people out and about in pubs and clubs and can tell straight away whether they have used a brush or if they have just simply used their fingers. I know which person I find more attractive.

Control

It is far easier to control the amount of powder or other make-up you are using when you apply it with a make-up brush. If you use your finger tips it is very easy to use too much and your face can become plastered. This can look really horrible and is a huge turn off. I would be thinking, what are you trying to hide beneath all of that make up? It also shows a lack of self-esteem and confidence on the part of the wearer.

This of course was not meant to happen and could have been avoided by using by a brush.

Which type of brush?

Most people believe that long handled brushes are by far the best for applying make-up, this is mainly due to balance.

When looking to purchase these brushes you normally get what you pay for. I would certainly advise where possible to avoid the lower end of the market.

When you look good, you feel good. It is a bit like wearing a new suit which you have spent a lot of money on. When you wear it for the first time to work or to a wedding, it gives you a bit of extra confidence as you know you are looking very smart.

Good quality brushes should if used correctly last quite a long time, they need to be correctly maintained and cleaned however to keep to their maximum effect.

Types of make-up brushes

These are the common types of make-up brush:

Blusher brush

Eyeliner brush

Eyelash comb

Eyeshadow brush

Eyebrow brush

Powder brush

Lip liner brush

If you do not want to or can not afford to buy make-up brushes, and are still planning to apply your cosmetics using your fingers, you need to ensure:

That you always wash your hands first

That you do not use too much make-up

You do not rush when applying the make-up

I hope this article helps you too look even more beautiful!

All You Ever Wanted To Know About Earrings But Were Afraid to As

by John Lewis

It is thought that earrings date back to 3000 BC where they originated in Asia and appeared in 2 formats, one being the simple hoop earring and the other the more elaborate pendant earring.
The oldest earrings ever found by archaeologists were discovered in royal graves in Iraq and date back to around 2500 BC. Gold, silver and bronze hoop earrings have also been found dating back to 2000 BC in Crete. In those days it was customary to bury jewellery with the dead.

In 16th century in the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt a type of earring called an earplug became fashionable and these fitted snugly into a wide stretched hole in the earlobe. This type of piercing is seen on the sculpture of Tutankhamen.

Poverty in the Dark ages meant that work with precious metals dwindled although some goldsmiths preserved designs that were to later emerge in 7th century Greece. The most popular earrings then there were the pendant type and they often featured a bird or likenesses of the gods Eros and Nike.

In the 2nd century during the Roman Empire, earrings became a popular way for rich women to show off their wealth and the use of precious gemstones in the jewellery also became more popular.

During the Middle Ages earrings became less popular and practical due to the popularity of elaborate hairstyles and headdresses. In fact for a time it was considered immoral for respectable married woman not to have their heads covered in public.

In 16th century Italy, hairstyles changed with hair being swept away from the face leaving ears exposed although for another 100 years things stayed the same in England, Spain and France with the wearing of high collars keeping earrings out of fashion.

By the 17th century, earrings became very fashionable accessory for the well dressed lady across the whole of Europe. One of the most popular designs of those times were the very large heavy pendant type earrings called girandoles which were great favourites of Queen Victoria. These earrings required a substantial amount of precious metals and gemstones and so were very heavy, which meant that most people that wore them suffered from elongated earlobes.

Although earrings were popular with wealthy people throughout the ages, they were also popular with poorer people who adopted their own styles which were less elaborate and made from less expensive materials.

It wasn’t until the 20th century that earrings were completely revolutionised. Different fittings appeared such as screw and clip on as well as those for pierced ears and it also became the norm for women to wear earrings in the day and not just for special occasions. The 1960’s marked a massive change for the wearing of earrings when designs became completely unrestrained and it became common to see men also wearing earrings although most only usually wear one earring. Women began to collect earrings and with so many designs available the choices were endless.
Today the choice is even greater and the popularity of earrings increases with many people now having more than one set of piercings in which to display their jewellery. Modern materials such as titanium and different types of plastics have also become popular in the making of earrings because of their lightness, design possibilities and in the case of titanium because of its hypoallergenic qualities.

There is now a never ending choice of different types of earrings from modern trendy cheap and cheerful everyday earrings to the more expensive gold, silver or platinum earrings inlaid with diamonds and other precious gemstones.
