Glow Necklace, A Brilliant Glow Jewelry Item

by Gagandeep Dhaliwal

A necklace is the jewelry consisting of a cord or chain, often bearing gems worn round the neck as an ornament. It’s especially the women jewelry. A glow necklace is one of the wearable glow products. It is a neck ornament that glows in darkness.

A glow necklace is an important part of the trendy glow jewelry in rave culture. It’s made of sheer flexible plastic or any other such material. The voguish people regularly attending the rave parties usually wear the glow necklaces.

The rave culture is an extremely popular epicurean culture of Europe, Canada and America. The rave bashes are the dance parties that last all night featuring dance and electronically synthesized rave music. The rave bashes have earned a great ill fame because of the alcoholism and drugism involved in them.

There are many colloquial expressions used for different types of ravers. A ‘baby raver’ or a ‘newbie’ is someone new to raving and the hardcore ravers are called ‘pure ravers’ or ‘true ravers’ or ‘partykids’.

The glow necklaces are highly in vogue among the female young ravers commonly dubbed as Club kids, Candy kids or Candy ravers. The young raver girls wear bright, flashy, gaudy clothes such as the t-shirts featuring cartoon characters, and do child-like fashions, such as, carrying glow sticks, blowing flashy whistles and wearing glow bracelets, glow necklaces, glow earrings, glow glasses, glow gloves etc.

The glow jewelry including glow bracelet, glow necklace, glow earrings, is the important part of glowsticking, a light-oriented dance.

The glow necklaces are available in mickle of styles, ranging from single color, bicolor to multicolor glow necklaces. The flashing star necklaces are brilliant and glow pendant necklaces are splendid. The glow necklaces can be ordered or purchased online also.

Fashion tips for women

by Isabella Rodrigues

Are women fashion style statement just about wearing women fashion clothing? Every one of us are different and so its important that we have a fashion statement that best suits our personality. Fashion is nothing but highlighting the best and hiding all the flaws.

Points all you women wanted to know about clothing
• Always wear a free flowing fabric in one tone to achieve a long and slim look.
• Wear clothes on the basis of your body structure.
• Velvet and leather is apt for winters and silk, organza and cotton for summers.
• For a morning party opt for lighter shades like emerald green, ocean blue, pink or you could also try out for some trendy pastel colors.
• For late evening occasions opt for vibrant colors that can add sparkling effect to your dressing sense.
• If you are short it would be advisable you avoid wearing short dresses. Rather go for long skirts with a nice fish cut.
• If you are thin avoid wearing sleeveless clothes. It would be advisable to wear dark color clothes as they hide your pale body structure.
• If you have a medium structure you need to wear beige and fawn color clothes.

Skin tone

• If you have a fair complexion, then gold with a blend of copper would just look beautiful.
• If you are medium wheatish colored, then mixed shades of white, beige and bronzy golden would suit your style.
• Dark skin women should wrap themselves with golden copper shades.

Helpful tips

• Wear clothes of your own size. Never opt for oversized clothes.
• Be careful while selecting accessories for a wear. Just don’t pick up something for the heck of it. Remember your accessories speak more about you than your clothes.
• Make sure whatever jeweler you wear blends well with your style.

Not Excited by diamonds? A Few Sparkling Alternatives for your engagement ring

by Richard Wise

By Richard W. Wise

When Charles, Prince of Wales decided to seek the hand of Lady Diana, diamond was not even in the running. Rumor has it that a call went out for a perfect ruby above six carats to consummate the royal betrothal. So rare is the pigeon blood stone that a suitable candidate could not be found. Instead the Prince made due with an eighteen carat sapphire reportedly from Sri Lanka.

Though the British royal family is not known as tight, the royals are justly admired for their sophistication, knowledge of gemstones and their desire squeeze full value from every, er, pound. Yet historically diamond is not been the gem of choice; aside from Diana, Princess Anne received a sapphire and Andrew gave Fergie a ruby. Do their Royal Highnesses know something we don’t?

Could it be the hype? Diamonds are touted as the “traditional” engagement stone but, whose tradition? The fact is that it all began in 1939 when Harry Openheimer the president of the De Beers cartel visited New York to meet with Gerold M. Lauck the president of N.W. Ayer, a leading advertising agency.

The value of diamond sales had declined 50% by the end of World War I and Openheimer was determined to do something about it, Lauck’s suggestion; manufacture a tradition. So successful was the campaign that in 1967 De Beers hired J. Walter Thompson to create a similar “tradition” in Japan, a country with absolutely no history of diamond giving. As a result, today over 90% of all Japanese women receive a diamond engagement ring.

Perhaps it’s the fact that diamond, the gem that is promoted as the ultimate symbol of beauty and rarity is not really rare at all. The fact is that world production has risen in a steady curve since 1900. Do you know a woman over the age of thirty who does not own at least one diamond?

With a world production of diamonds topping a hundred million carats a year, do you feel like your special relationship requires a more unique symbol? What are the options? Well beauty is important but durability is as well. That ring that she slips on her finger worn daily will take more abuse for more years than Daffy Duck ever gave Elmer Fudd. Luckily gemstones are one of the hardest and most durable objects on earth.

Sapphire and ruby, the royal gems of choice, are excellent candidates. They are really brother and sister, both members of the gem family corundum. Hardness and toughness are the two measures of durability. Diamond is the harder but ruby and sapphire are tougher and at 9 on the Mohs scale, ruby and sapphire are the second hardest things on earth. In fact, only another sapphire/ruby or diamond will scratch either. There are also expanded color choices: ruby is red but sapphire occurs in virtually every other color, besides, blue you may choose, pink, purple or yellow.

Looking for something really exotic (and less expensive as well? Consider spinel! In elder times red spinel was often confused with ruby, the Black Prince’s Ruby that sits in the English Crown just below the Koh-i-noor diamond is actually a spinel. Spinel comes in lovely shades of pink and is the third hardest gem.

Other options? make sure your choice is over 7 on the mohs scale of hardness: Jade and tourmaline are good possibilities. Avoid amethyst, citrine, opal, tanzanite and the softer garnets. Hard garnets like tsavorite (green garnet) and spessartite (pure orange garnet) at 7.25 are worth consideration. One exception: pearl, gem of Venus, the original symbol of love: It’s a bit soft but makes it up by being tough as nails. Avoid Japanese Akoya (thin skinned) but Tahitian Black; South sea White and Chinese Freshwater will serve admirably.

Still sold on diamond but want something colorful? Believe it or not diamond comes in every color and colored diamonds are truly rare. On big problem, hold on to your wallet: yellow and brown diamonds are affordable but blues, greens; orange, pink and red diamonds are exceptionally rare and bring breathtaking prices.

Louis Vuitton

by Rick Kelly

Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton is a name that comes up in every discussion about luxury and style. A Louis Vuitton bag is every fashionable woman’s ‘must have’. However, many would argue that Louis Vuitton products are overpriced. A Louis Vuitton bag is sold for prices from $650 to $3000 or more. Louis Vuitton is a fashion fetish for many people who know that by displaying a Louis Vuitton bag, they will be admired and envied. Louis Vuitton products are intended for rich people and celebrities and that is what makes them the high-end luxury products that they are today.

But what can you do if you are in love with style and fashion but your paycheck isn’t large enough to allow you to spend thousands of dollars each month on designer products? A solution would be to buy Louis Vuitton quality replicas, which are much cheaper and look the same as the originals. While a Louis Vuitton store might sell a bag like Mandara from the new Louis Vuitton 2006 collection at a cost of $1500, in a replica Louis Vuitton store you can buy it for about $130. You could argue that a Louis Vuitton replica doesn’t look like an authentic Louis Vuitton bag, but that is not just true. A high quality Louis Vuitton replica is made using fine fabrics and skilled craftsmanship. Every detail is taken under consideration, from the exact positioning of the monogram to the pattern of the imprinted figures. It looks so authentic that even Louis Vuitton himself couldn’t tell the difference.

However, be careful when you shop in replica Louis Vuitton stores over the internet. If the prices they offer are too low, that could mean that the Louis Vuitton bag replica that you want is not a quality product. You should also be aware of the Louis Vuitton replica stores that don’t have a money back guarantee policy.

To help you find the best deals on replica Louis Vuitton bags, here are some informative prices that you will find in the online Louis Vuitton stores that sell replicas: Monogram Louis Vuitton cost from $105 and you can find Multicolor Luis Vuitton bags from $55 while Denim Louis Vuitton bags have prices starting at $210. You can also find Louis Vuitton bags from the Cerise and Damier collections at $160.

The sole purpose of Louis Vuitton replicas is to make these luxury products more affordable, while at the same time keeping the high standards and quality of the authentic products. Treat yourself today, buy a Louis Vuitton replica handbag today and enjoy the luxury that comes from shopping online at a Louis Vuitton store online.

The Beauty of a Pendant Necklace

by Morgan Hamilon

I am truly fascinated by all kind of jewellery but on top of my list stand pendant necklaces. There is absolutely nothing which can be more beautiful. It isn't the glimmer I like. I often find myself enchanted by a plain and tarnish pendant necklace. I try not to pay too much attention to gems - sapphires, rubies, emeralds and diamonds, so I am not really taken away by shiny things. And I surely cannot afford to have a necklace like that. What I like best are unique pendant necklaces which have a story of their own and have a character.

My favorite pendant necklace was not originally designed as pendant jewellery. It was made up of a piece of pewter and it was a figure I liked to put on my mantle piece. The figure depicts a wizard, not an ordinary one but such without a long beard, a straight cap and long robes, and there is not a red stone in the wizard's staff, either. On the contrary, it is a typical but an eccentric pendant necklace.

The only thing that helps you recognize this figure is actually a wizard is the staff inscribed with imaginary runes that he holds. My wizard figure has a big casual hat with a puff ball, chubby cheeks, and a large friendly smile. He looks quite similar to a regular guy, so people often ask me about him. This is what I call a good pendant necklace, such that draws attention to you not for its gems but for its uniqueness and charm.

Making your own pendant necklace is not a very difficult task but the majority of people prefer purchasing them from stores. With a little creativeness you can make almost any miniature a lovely pendant necklace. Sometimes you might need to solder of bend the material, knowing something about shaping wire might also be helpful but most of the times you wouldn't need to do that in order to make a pendant necklace. All you need to have is patience and desire to learn. Having these two, you can easily make your own unique pendant necklace.

Tahitian Pearls Buying Guide

by Yan Berry

Tahitian pearls, symbols of luxury and perfection, are long sought for their exceptional beauty and value. Tahitian pearls are valued as queen of pearls and creation of the sea. Tahitian pearls are named after the tropical island of Tahiti. Tahiti’s black lipped oysters yield a unique array of iridescent black, gray and greenish black pearls. Employing Japanese cultured akoya pearl cultivation techniques, farmers in French Polynesia began cultivating large black pearls in 1965. Nowadays, Tahitian pearl farming has spread over thousands of miles around this island. Due to Tahiti’s government promotion, demand for black Tahitian pearls rise 5-10% a year.

Tahitian Pearl Quality
Six factors determine Tahitian pearl quality: luster, nacre thickness, surface, color, size, shape.

Nacre Thickness
Nacre thickness is the most important factor when measuring Tahitian pearl quality. It determines how long the beauty of Tahitian pearls will last. Tahitian pearls with thick nacre will last a life time, while Tahitian pearls with thin nacre won’t last long, their nacre will wear off over time.

French Polynesia Government has set up a minimum nacre thickness of 0.8mm for Tahitian pearls. Tahitian pearls with less than 0.8mm nacre thickness are prohibited from exporting.

Surface Quality
There are four grades to rate the surface quality of Tahitian pearls: A, B, C, D. A quality Tahitian pearls are the highest quality and they are the most valuable.

A Quality: Tahitian pearls with very high luster and clean surface (one to a few slight flaws are distributed over less than 10% of the pearl surface)

B Quality: Tahitian pearls with medium to high luster and slight surface imperfection (some slight flaws are distributed over 30% of the pearl surface)

C Quality: Tahitian pearls with medium luster and medium surface imperfection (some slight flaws are distributed over 60% of the pearl surface.

D Quality: Tahitian pearls are heavily spotted (many slight flaws or several deep flaws are distributed over 60% of the pearl surface)

Luster
Luster is the best expression of a pearl's beauty. It is the quality of the light reflections from the pearl’s surface. Luster measures pearl surface shininess. High quality Tahitian pearls have high luster and mirror-like finish. Thick nacre results in high luster. Tahitian pearls with sharp and intense light reflection have high luster and a metal-like steely look.

Size
Most common sizes for Tahitian pearls range from 8mm to 14mm. Some Tahitian pearls are 16mm and very rarely over 18mm. The largest Tahitian pearl in the world is 21mm for a round pearl and 25mm for a semi-round pearl. The larger the pearls, the more valuable the pearls are.

Shape
Tahitian pearls have the following shapes:
• round
• semi-round
• semi-baroque
• baroque
• ringed or circled

Among all shapes, round is the most desirable and valuable. Other shapes may have special appeal to jewelry artists.

Round pearls are almost perfect spheres. Round Tahitian pearls are rare and the production rate only accounts for 5-10% of Tahitian pearls produced each year.

Semi-round pearls are nearly round.

Semi-baroque pearls are subdivided into four shapes: drop, button, pear and oval.

Baroque pearls are described as irregular shapes.

Color
Black-lipped oysters produce the natural black color of Tahitian pearls. Although Tahitian Pearls are famous for their black natural color, they have a wide range of colors including black, grey, blue, green and brown. These colors are referred as body color. Body colors are enhanced by at least one overtone colors. Overtone colors include blue, gold, silver, pink and reddish purple.

Different names are given to a combination of overtone and body colors.

Peacock: greenish black
Pistachio: greenish gray
Cherry: purplish black
Champagne: yellowish gray
Lavender: bluish black
Tahitian gold: golden black
Pigeon grey: purplish gray
Silver: gray
Moon grey: pale gray

Among these colors, peacock and Pistachio are the most popular colors. Tahitian pearls with peacock and pistachio colors have a higher value than pearls with other colors.

Buying Tahitian Pearls
When buying Tahitian pearl jewelry, color, quality, size, design, setting, and matching of Tahitian pearl jewelry need to be paid attention. Low quality Tahitian pearls (medium or heavy blemishes) are only worth small fraction of top quality Tahitian pearls (flawless or very slightly spotted). It is important to ask the stores you shop to provide detailed information on their Tahitian pearl quality.

Real Tahitian Pearls and Imitation Tahitian Pearls
Be cautious about imitation Tahitian pearls sold in the market. Here are some tips about the differences between real Tahitian pearls and imitation Tahitian pearls.

Real Tahitian pearls have the following characters:

1. Real Tahitian pearls have overtones or hue: green, gray, blue, peacock, eggplant or magenta. Real Tahitian pearls have a faint reddish glow when viewed through crossed filters.
2. Real Tahitian pearls are cold to the touch. They can quickly adopt body temperature.
3. Real Tahitian pearls are gritty when rubbed across the teeth.
4. Drilled holes are smooth around the edges.
5. Real Tahitian pearls are heavy to hold.

Imitation Tahitian pearls have the following characters:

1. Imitation Tahitian pearls only have one body color; they don’t have any overtone colors or hues. The color looks very flat.
2. Imitation Tahitian pearls always have the same temperature as their environment. When touching them on your skin, you won’t feel coolness from the pearls.
3. Imitation Tahitian pearls are smooth on teeth.
4. Drilled holes are bumpy, as if pearls are melted during drilling.
5. Imitation Tahitian pearls are light in weight.
6. When viewed under a 10 x lens, bubbles or mat patterns will be seen under the surface of imitation Tahitian pearls.

Fashion - Today`s Colour In Fashion Will It Suit Your Complexion

by Kacy Carr

Fashion - Why do women and beauty products work well together, the answer to that is quite simple, cosmetics make you look beautiful and women want to be beautiful so there you have it - a match made in heaven - the perfect duo
Today`s fashion and latest shades in lipstick is no guarantee to looking beautiful if you are not feeling good about yourself.

It`s a funny old world - the fashion world. Take those glamour models that grace the catwalk with the latest in fashion design - only to go and mess the entire look of the whole outfit with an expression of depression along with a ridiculous unbalanced walk like that of a woman who has just downed 10 pints of lager - now where is the beauty in that I ask you.

Remember never to imitate the pose of a model on a night out with friends because that friendship may just cease and heaven forbid if you are looking for a date with the opposite sex - then the chances of that happening are zilch. If you want to impress then it is all down to how you dress. You will always be at your best if you feel good. A smile radiates beauty so regardless of what the fashion it is you adorn - be sure to smile and that is half of the battle won in feeling good and looking beautiful

Why is it you wear the same colours when you go out? Why is it you feel that a certain colour is not ideally suited to your complexion even though it is in fashion? Well now is the time to change all that. Todays fashionable colours are just oozing to expel your beauty within. Positive results are guaranteed after you have boosted your confidence into looking beautiful with the latest in fashion styles and colours.

For example if you are not partial to the colour green or orange up next to the skin, well that is fine, but, at the time you decided this colour was not for you, did you ever give it a minutes thought that it was just that particular shade of green that you were not comfortable with. Remember there are 40 shades of green, now do you get my drift. Now as for orange - a colour that does need to be given much thought behind for a person`s skin tone - but if you like orange then dress it up with accessories to compliment the shade itself - this will work wonders.

Just by changing the shade of one particular colour and style of dress can be the start of finding the real beauty within. Your inner beauty may have lain static for far to long all because you took for granted that the first bright lime green luminous blouse you ever tried on was not for you, therefore leaving you resisting future fashion garments in green, But did you ever consider replacing that lime green blouse for pretty cowl neck musky jade shade.. Also a change of hairstyle can alter your whole image along with the colour that you banished from the wardrobe.

It is sad - but there are many women who are confused and believe that a certain colour does them no justice - when at the end of the day it may have been their choice in the shade.

Nine Points To Ponder Before Buying Gemstone Jewelry

by Richard Wise

1. Many types of gemstones are treated. In the marketplace,

there are two types of gemstones, those that are completely natural and those that have been treated or enhanced. Any gem may be treated, 95% of all rubies, sapphires and emeralds are enhanced. Prices for untreated gems of similar quality are usually higher. A competent jeweler should be able to tell you which of the stones on offer have been treated and put it in writing. If it is a substantial purchase and want an untreated gem insist on an independent laboratory grading report.

2. If you are seeking a quality colored gemstone it is usually best to buy the stone loose then choose a setting. Manufactured jewelry requires uniformity in quality, size and weight. Most jewelry is produced in multiples. Stones must also be uniform to fit pre-made settings. Fine gemstones are rare and do not come in standardized sizes and shapes.

3. Colorless diamonds under ten carats are not rare. Diamonds under five carats are normally available in more or less standard sizes and shapes.

4. 18k is the aristocrat of gold. Most jewelry in the U. S. is 14k.

Jewelers will sometimes claim that’s because 18k is too soft. This is simply not true. 18k may be a hard and durable as 14k depending upon the alloy. Goldsmiths favor 18k because it develops a lovely buttery patina with age.

5. Cut is the first C in diamond grading. If you are shopping for a diamond you will hear about the 4 C’s’ Color, Cut, Clarity and Carat weight. Not all are of equal importance. Cut is the first C. Diamonds are all about brilliance, proper proportions are what deliver that sparkle. When buying a round diamond insist on a ideal Cut with a certificate from either the Gemological Institute of America (GIA-GTL) or The American Gem Society (AGS).

6. If you are considering platinum, keep in mind: Platinum is 40% denser than pure gold, meaning that an equal amount of platinum will weigh twice as much as the gold ring you see on the jeweler’s shelf. Today, platinum costs about twice the price of gold and requires much more time to finish. Expect to pay as much as twice the price of a comparable gold piece.

7. Platinum is the best choice for your solitaire diamond. Diamond color is all about the elimination of yellow. Diamond is graded on a scale from D to Z. D color is totally colorless, Z is noticeably yellow. Yellow settings add back the yellow that you paid to get rid of. Platinum is more durable than gold and your best choice for those tiny little prongs that hold your engagement gem.

8. Burmese rubies, Ceylon Sapphires and Columbian emeralds just to name a few examples, are often touted as the best of the best. This can be a snare and a delusion. Gems from these areas have developed reputations based on the quality of the finest from the geographic area. Does that mean that all Ceylon sapphires are better than Madagascar gems? Here lies the snare. A given sapphire from Madagascar might be exceptionally fine whereas a given stone from Ceylon might be better off used as aquarium gravel. Gems are all about beauty. Either the gem on offer is beautiful or it not. Geographic origin should be a secondary consideration.

9. Handmade is often better made. If you are contemplating an important purchase you should consider a handmade setting. Handmade means that the setting is fabricated around the gem directly from gold. Like a custom suit, in the hands of a skilled goldsmith, a handmade setting can bring out the best in the gemstone.

Can Necklaces Mean a Pain in the Neck?

by John Lewis

The wearing of jewellery has been with us across the ages with both men and women seeking to adorn their persons with these ornamental devices. The word jewellery is anglicised from an old French word “joule” (jewel), but the origin can be further traced back to the Latin word “jocale” which means plaything.

Although we typically think of jewellery as being made from precious metals and gemstones, over the centuries it has been made from a variety of materials such as cloth, wood, shells, rocks and stone. In fact man has been very ingenious and artistic in creating jewellery from just about anything and in many different styles from the plain and simple to the highly elaborate.

Items of jewellery have also been adopted as potent symbols and even worn to ward off evil spirits or to help overcome enemies in battle.

Examples of jewellery being worn other than for adornment, are necklaces such as the cross or crucifixes worn by Christians as potent religious symbols. Other religious types of necklaces are pendants known as amulets, which are figures or symbols of varying shapes and sizes, which are hung on a chain round the neck.

Necklaces called lockets, which are usually heart shaped are worn as a symbol of love and open up to reveal a picture or lock of hair from a cherished one.

Necklaces and pendants are both worn around the neck but a pendant usually means a hanging object although it can be hanging from a neck chain or an earring. A choker is also a form of necklace but is worn high around the neck and can also have a pendant hanging from it.

Perhaps the most bizarre form of necklaces are those worn by the Pa Dong Long Neck people who are part of the Karen tribal group that live along the border between Thailand and Burma. From the age of 6 years old, brass rings are snapped around the necks of young girls, a few every year, up to a limit of 20 rings although there is a woman on record as having 28 around her neck. As they progress from childhood to womanhood, their necks appear to elongate although apparently what really happens is that the weight of the rings crushes the women’s collarbones giving the illusion of a very long neck.

It is said that these women only remove the brass rings on their wedding night with a long drawn out process involved, which involves much neck washing. As brass often tends to discolour the skin one can imagine that there may be a rather nasty green mess under those rings. After the wedding night, the rings are replaced and must remain in place for life, as the women’s neck muscles are now no longer strong enough to support the length of the neck and the weight of the head on their own.

This wearing of neck rings was also a practice adopted by women in South Africa and in particular those from the Ndebele tribe and these women have often been referred to as giraffe women because of their long necks. The Ndebele women traditionally wore copper and brass rings around their necks arms and legs as a symbol of their status in society and after marriage as a symbol of her bond and faithfulness to her husband. Husbands would provide their wives with these rings and the richer her spouse the more rings she would wear and they would only be removed after his death as they were believed to have strong ritual powers.

Thankfully, in both the Pa Dong and the Ndebele tribes, this traditional practice is no longer popular and is now dying out in favour of the more usual types of necklaces.
